technological determinism

My camera was perfectly adequate until ten minutes ago when I heard about the 8.0 megapixel Canon EOS 350D. Damn you w... add that to the list of things not to talk about. I really have no immediate need for an upgraded camera, but that doesn't mean that I don't want one.
