Following a suggestion from one of the blogs I read, I listened to a couple interesting documentaries on BBC today about the school system in Finland as well as the quality of education at Westminster School and Harvard University.
After listening to the programs I paused to contemplate one of the comments that stood out from the two short documentaries, that Finland's education system is set up to support the country, while other school systems (notably private institutions like Westminster and ivy league schools like Harvard) are designed to further enhance the creative skills of the individual. Interesting thought... there are things to envy from all the systems I suppose.
